Parents are event organisers

Last weekend was amazing. I was the fortunate student of a lady called Joanna What an inspiring, clever woman! She is the best orator I have listened to in ages and emphatically she has changed my perception on certain issues and life.

Shakespear said something to the effect of “..Life is a stage, on which we play different roles..” and I am now seeing that my role as parent is not just about being a mother, a supporter, a teacher, a cop, a judge, a friend but also an event organiser!

Jo taught us how to construct a 60-90 minute presentation that engages the audience, upsells your product and leaves both parties on a high!

So I am going to utilise the same skills for the kids. Starting tomorrow with our 60 minute car drive to camping.

SOUL (sole ) CAMPING – for single parents this is sure to make it fun!

Theme Music: Who Let the Dogs Out.

Intro: Story about my first memory of camping and how it has a special place in my heart and how holidays are the time to make the BEST memories and have fun

Turn to the child next to you and say “mummy’s the best!”

Turn to the child on the other side and say “you had better not be naughty”

Then the talk will be about fishing – some education about :

1. water safety

2. equipment

3. how to make it fun, not stressful (ie catching fish may take time, what to to do if we catch fish will be out “camp side talk”)

And then the UPSELL using the elegant business model…

Freeby: I love you guys so much that we will take some chocolate maltesers fishing !

Next tier: If you guys are well behaved while fishing with no fights we can roast marshmallows on the fire

Next Tier: if they do this really well and we all vote that it was “the BEST TIME” then we will do it again the next day.

Hands up who thinks that is a fantastic idea?

YEAHHHHHHH……

I have even put together a fishing quiz for them to go with their fishing book.

Catering tick, venue tick, fishing equipment tick, positive attitude tick!

Common TINA – you’re simply the best.

Looking forward to the week-end!

I am excited as I know this time next week, I will have a totally new set of skills and will be back in action (I have had a week catching up on sleep, decreasing stress levels, and being a mum)! I am off to attend a 3 day seminar by Dr Joanna Martin about presenting from the stage (and webinars). Perfect for me, right now!

Some incredible tests have come my way in the last 2 weeks…

Business opportunities x 3. All of which I have turned down  and trusting that my “GUT” feeling is leading me right.

Yesterday this rainbow made me feel remarkably better. I was doubting, confused and unsettled, then saw this rainbow and instantly knew everything is on track and is ok!

The kids have been having fun – tennis, titans (never again a footy match at night with the 3 amigos – BIG night).

I have been having fun! 4 interviews in March:

- Naturopathy and depression

- 31 of the World’s Most Inspiring Women (Women Igniting Change)

- Gold Coast Kids magazine (for my charity efforts)

- Gold Coast Bulletin for an article on Gluten

I have also had a few webinars, one seminar and have lost 5 kg since Christmas (GIDDY UP)!

Exciting times ahead!
